Locals and visitors, on different schedules
Manly, Fairlight, Freshwater, Dee Why and Brookvale hold a mix of hospitality and tourism, surf and marine businesses, fitness and allied health, and a large trade and services sector working across the peninsula. Brookvale's light-industrial area is where much of the trade work is based.
- Hospitality and tourism where visitors search on the ferry or walking up the Corso — hours, menu, location, book now.
- Trades and home services covering a long, narrow service area where travel time is a real constraint. Be explicit about how far up the peninsula you go.
- Fitness, surf schools and allied health selling sessions, packs and seasonal programmes.
- Marine and outdoor services with strong seasonality worth reflecting on the site.
What the site has to do
Geography is the constraint that shapes everything. A customer in Mona Vale wants to know if you will come that far before they read anything else, and a Manly trade business that covers only the lower beaches should say so rather than field calls it will decline.
Seasonality is the second. If summer is your peak, the site needs to be easy to update with seasonal hours, holiday closures and peak-season lead times.
And it has to be fast on mobile: much of the searching happens outdoors, one-handed, with a bag in the other.
